Parking
You don’t need a car in Key West, so why bring it at all? But if you do drive to Key West, we recommend you Park It and Forget It at your hotel or one of the many City or private lots around downtown. If you’re staying in New Town or on Stock Island, take your hotel shuttle, use the Trolley or the North or South City Bus Routes. We have taxis, Ubers and Lyfts. DON’T DRIVE! And that way, you can enjoy that second cocktail. And don’t attempt to park in the neighborhoods downtown. The City of Key West Parking Enforcement Unit is renown for being vigilant. It just isn’t worth the trouble. Believe us. So Park It and Forget It and walk, bike or bus around our little town.

…But don’t take our word for it:

Or listen to the good folks at Tripadvisor on the question: “Do I need a car in Key West?:
“If you are staying in Old Town there will be no need for a car….”
“One of the joys (for me) of staying in Key West is that you DON’T need a car!”
“A car is definitely not needed in old town and you can get by without one even if you go to new town or Stock Island if you don’t mind longer bike rides.”
